OMABALA NA EZU WOMEN FISHERS ASSOCIATION REJOICES AS THEY RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM WISTA.

The entire Members of Omabala Na Ezu Women Fishers were in euphoria of joy as their efforts were recognised and boosted by Women International Shipping and Trading Association on Thursday 29th August 2019.

The brain behind the idea of Women International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) support and partner with Omambala na-ezu Women Fishers Association was no other person but Chief Barr. Mrs Edith Nnacheta Ejezie (Okeite Aguleri).

Okeite Aguleri is that vibrant woman who derives joy in helping others to achieve their dreams in life especially the hardworking women of Omabala Na Ezu extraction.

It was out of her quest to make sure that the women in our riverine areas were encouraged that she vowed to use her good office and connections to attract WISTA to partner with the Women  Fishers Association in Omabala Na Ezu to enable them get enough value on fish farming.

Women International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) is an international organisation that has Mrs Mary Haman as the President Nigeria Branch.

WISTA  specialised in global business relationship in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors and also supports the advancement of women in leadership roles. 

The event which held at Okeke Erico Company Otuocha Market in Aguleri, have the attendance of the First Lady of Anambra State Her Excellency Chief (Dr) EbeleChukwu Obiano (Osodieme Global) who was ably represented by the MD CEO, Anambra Transport Company Limited ( Tracas) in person of Hon Mrs Ify Mmadukasi as the Special guest of Honour.

The Royal Father of the day, HRM Igwe Dr Mike Idigo (Ezeudo Aguleri) was ably represented as well by Rtd Captain Dom Ndife, We also have the (PG) President General of Aguleri Town Union Hon Barr Hipo Onwuegbuke (Ojiudo Aguleri) in our midst.

WISTA took time to educate the Women Fishers and also advocate for girls involvement in Marine Business which is all encompassing... 

(I) Shipping.

(II) Stevedoring.

(III) Seafarers.

(IIII) Suppliers....etc

One of the good news to the good people of Omabala Na Ezu region is that she reiterated that a branch of WISTA will now be in Aguleri to consolidate on the success of the event.

This is an influence from a worthy and illustrous daughter of Aguleri , Chief Barr Mrs Edith Nnacheta Ejezie ( Okeite Aguleri).

Having note that, they call on all the Women Fishers in Omabala Na Ezu region to hurry up and identify with the association so they can benefit from the WISTA partnership and for more enlightenment for them to know that fishing is a lucrative business.

At the end of the event, WISTA donated one speed boat, safety jackets and other items to the Omabala Na Ezu Women Fishers for safety and speedy journey on the river.

The President (ONEWFA) Omabala Na Ezu Women Fishers Association Mrs Nkemdilim Udenze in her vote of thanks, with overwhelmed joy, thanks WISTA President Nigeria Branch Mrs Mary Haman and promised the readiness of ONEWFA under her leadership to do all they can to sustain their relationship with WISTA.
She also thanks the Amazon, Hon Chief Barr Mrs Edith Ejezie (Okeite Aguleri) who is the bridge builder of what ONEWFA witnessed today and what they stand to gain in future.
