Thousands of residents of Onitsha North local government area trooped out in their numbers at the GRA headquarters of the Council to throw their weight behind the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Dr. Chinedu Emeka for Anambra North Senatorial District in the 2019 general elections.

They said that apart from what they referred to as " the impressive antecedents and pedigree of Dr. Emeka, governments of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state, especially under Governor Willie Obiano have over the years progressively and steadily enhanced the socioeconomic and infrastructural well being of the citizenry.
Led by the transition chairman of the Council area, Mr. Patrick Agha and other stakeholders to receive Dr. Emeka and his entourage, Onitsha residents noted that as two times commissioner in the Anambra State Executive Council, EXCO of Governor Obiano's first term, Dr. Emeka played significant roles in the unprecedented achievements of APGA governments in the state. 

They equally commended the loyalty and faithfulness of the APGA flag bear in Anambra North Senatorial District, to his party and the incumbent governor of the state, pointing out that his steadfastness was worthy of emulation by members of the Nigerian political elite.
For his part, Dr. Emeka assured Onitsha North residents that he would focus on their fundamental interests and particularly meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the seven local government areas  of the  Senatorial District.

Dr. Emeka also said he would leave no stone unturned towards ensuring the rejuvenation of the Onitsha River Port, in order to further boost socioeconomic activities in the Onitsha metropolis and beyond. 
Others who spoke on the occasion included the APGA House of Representatives candidate for Onitsha North and South Federal constituency, Chief Patrick Obianwu, the Director General of the the Prince Chinedu Emeka Senatorial Campaign Organisation, Mr. Emeka Asoanya and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroots Media Mobilisation, Hon. Egbuna Amuta.

The political gathering was attended by Chief Okay Ibekwe, Dr. Mike Areh, Chief Charles Udeh, retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Charles Osegbue and the candidate of APGA for Onitsha North One State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Chief Tony Nworah among others.
