APGA HOUSE OF REPS FLAG BEARER, PATRICK OBIANWU, EXPLAINS THE ROLES OF POLITICAL PARTIES IN SOCIOECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

By: Egbuna Amuta

The House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Patrick Obianwu has said that political parties play vital roles in socioeconomic prosperity or backwardness of the Society.
Chief Obianwu stated this while addressing a mammoth crowd in a political rally at Fegge in Onitsha South Local Government Area.

He emphasised that the the constitution, agenda and manifestos of political parties are, more often than not, binding on their members elected into public offices, pointing out that this explains why APGA governments in Anambra state have in the past thirteen years provided good governance and impressive democracy dividends to the masses.

The APGA House of Representatives flag bearer for Onitsha North and South noted that on the contrary, the political party which governed Anambra state between May 29, 1999 and March 15, 2006, regrettably gave bad governance and political instability to the good people of the state.
Chief Obianwu further explained that one of the major reasons why his party, is this time around, fielding retire Major General Dr. John Gbor in the presidential election was to maximise the support and votes of APGA supporters throughout the country for all its candidates, unlike in 2011 and 2015 general elections when it went into an unfavourable alliance for the presidency with another political party which brazenly rigged the polls against the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Other APGA candidates for the 2019 general polls who spoke during the political rally at Fegge, were the members representing Onitsha South One and Two constituencies in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Patrick Aniunoh and Mrs. Beverley Ikpazu-Nkemdiche respectively among others.
