(A former deputy governor of Anambra state, Dr. Chinedu Emeka has stressed the need for the empowerment of youths and women for rapid socioeconomic development of the society.

(Dr. Emeka made this assertion at Fegge, during a meeting of stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in Onitsha South local government area.

(He noted that youth and women empowerment was imperative pointing out that the evidential emphasis on this has endeared the present Anambra state government to the citizenry.

(The former deputy governor who is the Senatorial Candidate of APGA for Anambra North District also said that no effort should be spared to re-energise the Onitsha River Port in order to bring it at par with the Apapa Port in Lagos State because of enterprising and commercial acumen of Ndigbo. 

(Dr. Emeka further stressed the need for synergy among APGA faithful in Anambra North District to guarantee the party's success in the forthcoming general elections in the country.

(Other prominent stakeholders who spoke during the parley included the Members representing Onitsha South One and Two Constituencies in the State House of Assembly, Chief Patrick Aniunoh and Mrs. Beverley Ikpeazu-Nkemdiche respectively as well as the Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government Council, Chief Emeka Asoanya among others#
