A renowned international project contracting firm, China-CAMC Engineering Ltd has expressed interest to partner Anambra State across four key sectors of the state's economy. Consequently, a high-powered delegation from the company,United
Nations Industrial Development Organization,(UNIDO) and some finance partners visited Gov Willie Obiano yesterday.

The sectors include Agriculture-where they want to support in areas of staple crop processing, Agric mechanization and construction of airport and Transport where they intend to do inter-city and inter-state rail projects. Others include Health facilities up-grade, Power, Oil and Gas.

Receiving the delegation, Gov Obiano said that as part of efforts to
encourage investors, his government had fought insecurity to a
standstill in the State and had set up ANSIPPA with its pool of
investment experts as a one-stop shop for investment activities, adding that the result has been steady influx of high net worth foreign and local investors in the state.

The Governor welcomed the partnership interests of the group
especially as it concerns the airport project, adding that the State
Government had initially designed an airport to be built at Umueri,
Anambra East council area of the state because of the comparative advantages it will have for the Orient Petroleum facility cited in the area.

The Governor further sought their partnership in the development of Water Transportation and creation of an Export Free Zone in the State and assured that his government will do its part to ensure that a deal is struck very soon.

The Managing Director, China-CAMC, Mr Yu Tao explained that the visit was to interact with the State Government with a view to structuring a deal across the key interest areas, noting that with what they saw in the State and the Government's enthusiastic readiness, they are convinced that they made the right choice by coming to Anambra.

A representative of Urban Technical Ltd, Mr Kingsley Agha, one of the partner-company in the project, revealed that they are keying into the 60 billion dollars earmarked by the Chinese Government for the development of Africa, to fund project which they will agree to undertake in the State.

On his part, the Managing Director of ANSIPPA, Chief Joe-Billy Ekwunife assured of their commitment in keeping with the mandate of the Governor to work out a business deal that will have sustainable positive impact on the lives of Ndi Anambra and greatly
improve the revenue fortunes of the State.

The state's Commissioner for Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Export, Mr Afam Mbanefo said that through his expertise in investment and administrative concerns, Gov Obiano has continued to lead the State with vision and focus and as a result, Anambra is breaking many positive grounds.

The delegation later held further discussion with the state executive
council members.
