A 50-year old woman, Mrs. Vera Henry who stole two kids to replace her missing daughter has been charged to court and remanded in prison custody in Lagos. The alleged abduction took place along Herbert Macaulay Road in Yaba, Lagos where she accosted the victims, Mariam Jubril, 2 and Mukaila Ya’u, 10 and took them away.
However, while she was escaping with the victims to an unknown place, the police on surveillance led by the DPO, Sabo Division, suspected and trailed her before she diverted with the children into St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba, Lagos where the police then alerted the church security over her suspicious conduct.
The church security men then apprehended and took her to Sabo Police Division, Yaba for interrogation.
It was reported that during the interrogations, she confessed and told the police that the victims, aged 2 and 10 looked like her missing daughter as she was told by a diviner that her daughter was still alive but that her stature had reduced.
