HERDSMEN KILLING : ASATU Youth Charges Ndi Anambra To Be Vigilant.

Following the recent killings In Benue State and other parts of the country by people suspected to be herdsmen, the youth wing of Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU Youth ) charged Ndi Anambra, especially the youths to be vigilant and to be on guard against such incident in the state. 

This call was made today Saturday January 20th 2018, during the monthly meeting of the association led by Comrade Osita Kc Kingsley Ozalagba at ASATU hall Government House Awka. 

Worried by the incessant killing of farmers by suspected herds men, the ASATU Youth National President,  challenged the people of the State especially the youths to watch out for people who might threaten the peace and tranquility in their various communities and the state at large, he suggested measures which the youths in coordination with the President Generals, Ndi Igwe and Police formations in various local government areas can put in place to checkmate the activities of the herdsmen in their areas. 

In his words, Hon Osita Ozalagba, insisted that monitoring and keeping an eye on strangers living in our environment is one of the ways to reduce the chances of being attacked by unknown individuals. 
 
He further suggested that Ndi Anambra should go into commercial cattle rearing to reduce the patronage of those who sell their meats to us and use the proceed to buy guns and ammunition. 

Other youth leaders who spoke on the continues attacks by the herdsmen across the country, collaborated the concerns  of the National President of ASATU Youths, they unequivocally lend their voices for the call for cattle rearers to embrace the idea of ranching. The youth leaders further encouraged every youth leader to participate in security of their various communities.

In concluding her first meeting of the year, the youth leaders in all the communities in Anambra State, vowed to go into cattle rearing and ranching, they therefore called on every Onye Anambra, especially the youths who has interest in cattle rearing to register with the youth leader of his or her community, they informed that the association will liaise with the ministry of Agriculture to support the program. 

The National President of ASATU Youths, Comrade Ozalagba, however, warned that the association will only entertain application from only serious minded individuals who really are determined to be part of the alternative to the killer herdsmen and their cattle.
